Anyone for tennis?

For the last few months, a group of residents has been promoting the building of two public tennis courts on a plateau below, and to the left of, the cricket pitch access road as you enter the playing fields as shown above. Planning approval has been granted to remove the small number of trees on the site.

If you would like to help with raising the c£40,000 necessary, by local initiatives and grant applications, we would be pleased to hear from you.

We are currently preparing grant applications and would be grateful if as many residents as possible complete the questionnaire (click to download). You can email it to tonycole7@btinternet.com or drop it into one of the addresses at the bottom of the form. In addition, there is a petition in the village shop.

We are liaising with other villages that have completed similar projects and are confident that Marton cum Grafton can also gain a facility available to all residents of whatever age (or sporting ability).
